LARS

Frequently Asked Questions

Where did the name Lars come from?

It's the name of somebody in Sweden. Yeah. Somebody in Sweden.

Does this work on Windows?

Nah. Windows FP (Fisher Price Edition) comes with a program that does this already I believe. Although, Lars has normalization and I don't think the Windows one does :).

What is volume normalization?

Normalization will increase the volume of an mp3 to it's maximum (without changing the sound). This helps keep all the mp3's you burn on a CD even sounding. Although, some older, noisier mp3's don't seem to want to normalize very well, so I added a "Louder" version which tries to figure out if there are "spikes" in the sound and remove them before normalization. This alters the sound of the song slightly, but I think it's completely unnoticable. Try it once. It can't hurt :). Btw, normalization can be slow... especially the "Louder" version.

For more information on how I do volume normalization, read this page.
